Our Bursaries

We offer bursaries and scholarships for the university years to help with everyday expenses, such as buying a computer, advance accommodation payments or practical things that may arise.

We believe that in supporting young Black women with these costs they will have one less thing to worry about so that they can stay focused on their academic study and achieving their full potential.

How it Works

Each year we provide awards to girls aged 17+ from African and Caribbean heritage, Mixed heritage and ethnically diverse backgrounds who have accepted a place at university to complete an undergraduate degree. We have 2 types of grant at KINShiP, the KINShiP Bursary Award and the KINShiP Bursary Scholar.

KINShiP Bursary Scholar

The KINShiP Bursary Scholar is an outstanding achievement award. It is given to only 3 exemplary students per year, who achieve outstanding A’ Level results, who show great leadership and exemplify the ideals, aims and objectives of KINShiP Bursary. The current award is £1000 which is provided for each year of undergraduate study, up to a maximum of three years.

KINShiP Bursary Award

The KINShiP Bursary Award is given to successful applicants for the first year of their undergraduate studies. The current award is £500. Successful candidates will receive their award after A’ Level Results Day on confirmation they will be attending their choice university. Please see our eligibility criteria below.
